Concrete / Steypa

Text work and Performance “There will be no sound”

Verksmiðjan á Hjalteyri, Hjalteyri, 2021

The exhibition "Concrete / Steypa" was the result of a one-week residency project at a former fish factory in northern Iceland, and part of the MA Curatorial Practice and MA Fine Art at the Iceland University of the Arts.
For the exhibition, I created a text work and music performance titled "There will be no sound", playing with the different echoes of the concrete space and at the same time imagining the sounds of the former fish factory. At the core of the piece was the silence that came after the sound – after the industry had ceased and the echo vanished.
